The Dismantling Racism and Hate Act
The Dismantling Racism and Hate Act (2022) was passed in 2022 and mandates that certain public-sector bodies, including municipalities, develop and maintain an Equity and Anti-Racism Plan identifying specific actions to promote inclusion and eliminate systemic barriers. To meet this requirement, the Town of Shelburne, Town of Lockeport, and the Municipality of the District of Shelburne partnered to create a unified regional strategy: the Eastern Shelburne County Equity & Anti-Racism Plan 2025–2028.
