Water and Wastewater
The Town of Shelburne provides quality drinking water to many residents, businesses and institutions of the Town and of the Municipality of the District of Shelburne. Wastewater Treatment Plant
The Town of Shelburne Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 9 Rose Island Lane just off the Sandy Point Road. The facility employs a technical operator who ensures that the proper treatment of waste and wastewater through the plant and its 12 sewage pump stations is done according to the Nova Scotia Department of Environment
Owners of residential properties and businesses are encouraged to review the by-law as strict limits are included for certain substances which are considered detrimental to the operation of a wastewater collection and treatment plant.
If you require sewer services to an undeveloped lot or property in the Town of Shelburne, please contact Mike Kahn, Director of Planning & Development Services, planning@shelburnens.ca for information. An application is required before obtaining any services.
To report line breaks, backup problems and any other sewer problems, please contact the Public Works & Infrastructure Department
Note: a plumber must be called to confirm the obstruction is not on private property for the Town to respond to a sewer block
