A more complete description of the properties listed above may be seen at the Town
Office, 168 Water Street, Shelburne, N.S. during regular office hours (9:00 am to 3:00
pm) up to March 13, 2023, however we do not guarantee the accuracy of property
descriptions.
Although the Town has made all reasonable efforts to confirm ownership, it does not
guarantee title or boundaries of the aforementioned properties. Prospective purchasers
are responsible to conduct their own searches and surveys or investigations.
TERMS: Payment of CASH, DEBIT, BANK DRAFT, CERTIFIED CHEQUE or LAWYER’S TRUST
CHEQUE to cover rates, taxes, interest, expenses PLUS costs associated to record the
CERTIFICATE OF SALE AND TAX SALE DEED must be paid at the time of sale. The balance
of the purchase price, if any, must be made WITHIN three (3) days of the sale by CASH,
DEBIT, BANK DRAFT, CERTIFIED CHEQUE or LAWYER’S TRUST CHEQUE.
THE TOWN OF SHELBURNE makes no representation or warranties to any purchaser
regarding the fitness, geophysical or enviromental suitability of the properties
offered for sale for any particular use and are being sold on an “as is” basis only.
TAKE NOTICE that Tax Sales do not in all circumstances clear up defects in title. A
tax deed conveys only the interest of the assessed owner, whatever that interest
may be. It is advisable to consult with a lawyer before puchasing a property.
PLEASE NOTE: Properties with less than six (6) years taxes owing may be redeemed
within six (6) months after the date of sale.

Every year the Shelburne RCMP ask for three policing priorities from the Town of Shelburne, Town of Lockeport, and the Municipality of Shelburne. Priorities chosen in the past were things like visibility of Police in the community and combating hard drugs in the community. This year, from recommendation of the Shelburne RCMP we would like to ask the public for their input on the three RCMP policing priorities for the Town of Shelburne. Please contact a Town of Shelburne Council member with any priorities that you believe the Shelburne RCMP should add some additional focus on.
